“Screen Wall” is a “FengShui” device in traditional Chinese architecture. At the Mandarin's House, the original appearance of the “Screen Wall” is not known. As such, during restoration, a window in harmony with the architectural environment was integrated on the wall with modern materials, based on the principles of reciprocity and identifiability, using the existing window design of the house as reference. Green plants have also been grown to diffuse “evil influences” at the entrance. The vegetation also serves to soften the contrast between the old building and the new construction.
